With over a third of the Nigerian population living below the poverty line, the case for welfare cannot be overemphasized. At present, social welfare services which are mostly informal are provided by (1) the family system, (2) voluntary agencies like Lilyford Foundation and (3) the government.
The numerous factors militating against the well-being of the individuals and communities we target range from poor socio-economic to insecurity to inadequate public participation with a lot in-between. The belief that a structured and more attentive approach to defending and catering to the needs of the most vulnerable in our society is what drives our efforts and initiatives in this regard.
Though a few number, there are few services and little support dedicated to them

Lilyford Foundation has over the years, in addition, donated wheelchairs, walking and standing assists to both the disabled and the elderly – even though only about 5% of the 200 million persons in Nigeria are aged 60 years and above, there are few services and little support dedicated to them. This forms the basis for our endeavours in welfare and general well-being.
